Last night, we read the passion of Christ, and there was one verse that really struck me as a little more than ordinary.
“Daughters of Jerusalem, don’t weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For the days are coming when they will say, ‘Fortunate indeed are the women who are childless, the wombs that have not borne a child and the breasts that have never nursed.’ People will beg the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and plead with the hills, ‘Bury us.’ For if these things are done when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry? ” (Luke 23:26-31)
I know that the direct prophecy made by Christ acknowledges that Jerusalem will fall in the near future, but I think it says more about people of our current times.
I feel that Jesus is foretelling a time when women (and especially their mates) do not want the child. I wonder if he had seen the scale to which humans take their dislike of children. Did he know that nearly 2 million children are aborted each year? I don’t know.
But this passage really spoke to me, and it pains me to know that Christ looked to our generation in disdain. Then again, he might not have been talking about us at all.
I love the last line. If we are doing all this irrational and crazy acts when the world is in order, what will we do when the world is thrown in chaos?
If the makers of HP & The Deathly Hallows use a song like this for the 19 years later scene, I will seriously take a fucking trip to England and hug them all. This was made by a 19 year old on youtube. See my other videos for more details.
Which might be easier than thought, BECAUSE I WILL BE IN LONDON FOR THE FUCKING PREMIERE OF DH PART 2!
